What are your opening hours? 

We are open 24/7, 365 days a year. 

There are rare occasions where we may have to close our doors. This can be due to essential maintenance, large charity events, or national lockdowns. We will always communicate any closures to our members as soon as possible via email, and publicly announce any disruptions across our social media accounts to keep everyone informed. 


How much does a membership cost? 

Membership prices vary depending on whether you are paying annually or through direct debit. We also have a discounted membership for NHS/Services/Forces and Students.

I have noticed a billing error, or need to change my account information. Who do I contact?

How do I cancel my membership? 

In the unfortunate event that you will be looking to leave us, you will be pleased to know that you aren’t tied into long contracts. We have a simple policy, and this is set out below in more detail: 

Billed Memberships - We operate a policy where the member must notify U7 GYM with one months notice (30 days) of their intentions to terminate. This notice must be given via email for our records. This means that there will be one final payment to make before your membership is closed. Cancelling the direct debit to cease payments is not sufficient. This is clearly set out in the Terms and Conditions of your Membership Agreement. 

Pre-Paid Memberships - Due to the nature of these memberships, we will not offer refunds. However if a request is raised, only in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the management team will a refund be issued.

A. U7 GYM prides itself on hiring individuals that not only fit into our community, but also add to the special atmosphere that’s been created so our members can enjoy a continually improving training facility.

Do you offer fitness classes? 

A. Yes, we offer fitness classes to all of our members at no extra charge to your membership. You are able to attend as many fitness classes as you like with no extra charges, and no limits. 

Our fitness classes range from H.I.I.T to strength based classes, to mobility and flow.

How many fitness classes take place each week?

A. We are continually developing and expanding our fitness class timetable to mould what we offer to our awesome membership base. 
We currently run 25 classes per week. These are spread over the week with morning, midday, and evening classes.

A. We would love to hear any feedback you might have. Positive or negative, we feel that all feedback is vital so that we can continue to improve in the future.

How do I find out more about your team of Personal Trainers? 

A. Our team of Personal Trainers all manage their own client base. You can check out their profiles by heading over to the Personal Trainer page on our website and reading through each Personal Trainers profile. You can also see their contact information and contact them privately for further information.


What does my membership include? 

A. All of our memberships include the following: 

  • 24/7 gym access.

  • Access to fitness classes at no extra charge.

  • Access to FitSense, our handy app that allows you to book classes, scan into the gym, and manage your entire account, all from your phone.

  • Access to limited, free, on-site car parking.

  • Access to our separate male and female changing room facilities.


I am going away. Am I able to freeze my membership? 

A. In short, yes, you are able to freeze your membership whilst you are away. We always strive to work with our members to provide the best options for you. 

There are so many reasons that you might be going away for a period of time. It may be for work, a long holiday, injury or illness, pregnancy, or maybe your student term has come to an end. Whatever the reason, a simple discussion with our management team will provide you with more information you require.

Is there car parking available on-site? 

Yes, we have limited, allocated, free car parking space on-site. 

It is important that anyone who travels by car to U7 GYM, parks in our allocated car park spaces. We have neighbours who require the use of their spaces so their businesses can operate effectively. We ask you politely to respect the other businesses on Kennford Road and park only in our allocated spaces. 


What are the transport options to get me to and from U7 GYM?

Due to our location, we are lucky to have a number of transport links so that you are able to get to U7 GYM stress free. 

Car - We have limited, allocated, free car parking space on-site. For more information, check out the FAQ question below regarding the available car parking on-site.

Train - We are only a 15 minute walk to and from Exeter St Thomas train station. 

Bus - The Green (GRN) bus passes in both directions directly past U7 GYM throughout the day. 

The Green (GRN) bus travels to and from Sowton Park and Ride, through Heavitree, to St Lukes Campus, into the City Centre, across Haven Banks on the Quay, into Marsh Barton and past U7 GYM, and out to Matford Park and Ride. 

Travel on the Green (GRN) bus from the city centre to U7 GYM takes only 9 minutes.

Walking - Due to our location on Marsh Barton Industrial Estate, walking to U7 GYM is an easy and simple option. We are within walking distance of Alphington, St Thomas, Exeter City Centre, St Leonards and anyone that works on Marsh Barton. 

Cycle - With fantastic cycle links throughout the city, we have a number of secure bike racks with monitored CCTV surveillance, for you to keep your bike stored whilst at U7 GYM. 

We are closely connected to Alphington, St Thomas, Exeter City Centre, the quay, St Leonards, Countess Wear, and even the cycle path all the way down to Exmouth! 


Do you have toilet and shower facilities?

Yes, we have separate male and female changing rooms, showers, and toilets. 


I am new to training and/or haven’t been to a gym in a long time. Is U7 suitable for me?

Firstly, it’s fantastic to hear that you are looking to begin, or restart your fitness journey! This is an incredibly exciting time for you, and one where U7 would love to be with you along the way! 

We are suitable for everyone from complete beginners, all the way up to professional athletes. Plastered across the front page of our website is the following statement: 

‘Here You aren’t restricted by rules or made to conform. We appreciate individuality and promote the expression of character. Be Yourself and train how You want to train. We welcome everyone to U7 no matter Your size or shape, age or experience.’

If you want to join a gym where you become a part of a community, and meet a heap of like-minded people who train hard but also know how to have fun along the way, then U7 GYM is most definitely suitable for YOU!


Are inductions available for new members?

Inductions are available to all of our members regardless of whether they are new joiners, or seasoned U7 GYM veterans. Our staff are here to support and help you. This is our job, it’s what we do.

If you are new and need a full induction, looking to learn how to use a new piece of equipment, or just after a refresher as you ay have been away for sometime, let us know and we will get you booked in!

I have an injury and require extra support. Do you have sports therapists who can help me?

Yes! We have an entire team of qualified, professional and experienced therapists who can assist and provide you with a wide range of services that will help get you back to full health.

Do you offer massage therapy? 

Yes, our Therapy team offer massage as a service. Whether you are looking to relieve some muscle aches and pains, treat an on-going injury, or simply relax - massage therapy is a great option!
